Though I treasure the practices of all things yoga, academically, this is the well I've pursued with the the most depth.
This formal education takes place under my master's advisor Dr. Edwin Bryant, world renowned Indologist and expert in yoga who's teaching style is balanced in being academically rigorous as well as being steeped in traditional knowledge systems and pedagogy. His translation of the Yoga Sutras is considered the "gold standard" by academics and serious practitioners alike. My degree for which I will be forever indebted to him, is in Indian Philosophy & Religion.
Sanskrit texts such as The Yoga Sutras, Bhagavad Gita, the Srimad Bhagavatam and the Upanishads make up the backbone of my practice. Reading these in their original form in addition to secondary sources that try to make sense of them has afforded me the content with which I teach from.
I offer online philosophy workshops and live workshops in yoga studios and centers that are both accessible and sensitive to traditional knowledge systems. Studios often use my lectures as part of their Yoga Alliance philosophy credits in their Yoga Teacher Training programs.
Yoga practice has absolutely changed the way I live and the way I treat and love my body. Had I not taken a class with Gabi, I wouldn't have found this new challenge and joy. I attribute my love for yoga to Gabi wholeheartedly, and I hope she continues to spread that love to others. She is my absolute favorite teacher. Without a doubt, I would recommend Gabi to anyone looking to start or continue yoga.
